CIP RC/PT Girder Help

Program Boundaries and Conventions

The following is a list of CIP RC/PT Girder boundaries and conventions:

  • Specify vertical columns only.
  • Vertical load analysis only.
  • No Concentrated moment load input.
  • Uses a modified Plane Frame method for analysis.
  • Assumes the full width of the top and bottom slabs effective for compressive forces.
  • Will perform an IRC design for reinforced concrete bridges including performing a serviceability check.
  • Does not generate seismic analysis/responses.
  • Assumes the pier substructure to be centered and to coincide with the horizontal center of the box girder and/or slab superstructure.
  • Assumes the same web thickness for all interior girders/webs. Additionally, CIP RC/PT Girder does not allow non-uniform interior girder spacings.
  • Does not include additional torsional effects in the box girder cross section due to eccentric live loads. User may specify a factor to account for these effects for box bridges.
  • CIP RC/PT Girder assumes all longitudinal rebar to be fully developed.
